Virtual WonderCon 2020 Sketch List UPDATE 5.0 Still going...

Still drawing sketch 11 - but it's a good one, a non-comic character request that I've never drawn before.

SO, I'm continuing down the WC list as I haven't had time to start the next list. I have notified everyone who was initially contacted to say this last night. 

I will probably do a NEW LIST to coincide with the cancelled Heroes Con and, 
definitely for San Diego Comic Con. 

I might also do something special when my new book, ADVENTUREMAN, ships June 10th!

Wonder Woman Copic Sketch Demo

How I made Alison's Wonder Woman sketch-

Tools 

11" x 14" Color Canson Mi Teinte Pastel paper

Col Erase Scarlet Red Pencil

 Copic Warm Grey Pens

Pitt S and B Black Markers

 Prismacolor White Pencil 

 Pro White

My initial rough in with the Col Erase Pencil

VIDEO 1

Using the Pitt S Pen to nail down drawing before Copics.

Then begin with Copic Warm Grey 1 for initial value.

Tighten up drawing more with Red Pencil and Pitt S before using Copic Warm Grey 2.

And this is how it looked after video...

Finished all the lineart.

Tighten up final line art with Pitt S then Copic Warm Grey 3 for next value.

Use Pitt B Pen for hair.

Use Copic Warm Grey 4 for next value.

Then Copic Warm Grey 6 for background and outline.

Refresh lineart with Pitt S pen on face.

Next, highlights with Prismacolor White Pencil.

One more refresher with Copic Warm Grey.

Finally, Pro White applied for lettering and highlights.

And ...

I darkened the darks and detailed her nose a bit.

I charge $5 a signature for witnessed signatures.

Three Things About The Heroes Con Sketch List

Three things about the Heroes Con Sketch List - 

1) This is the first time I've done a Pre-Show Commission List as I thought there might be a lot of requests for a 3 day show  that I had never attended, so a lot of new people to do sketches for.

2) I'm absolutely stunned at the number of requests I got at 6:00 PM.

Thanks so much for your interest!

3) And based on the number of requests I got I'm glad I did it this way, as I think I would have spent the majority of the show Friday dealing with the sketch list, as opposed to sketching, signing, talking, etc with all the fans at the show which is a difficult experience for everyone.

AND

I will have copies of my Bombshells Sketchbook, Masquerade Sketchbook, and Red One Book 1 and 2 for sale which I generally do complimentary head sketches in as a thank you for the support.

I'm really looking forward to Heroes, seeing Charlotte and meeting everyone - I've heard a lot of great stuff about Heroes Con!

HEROES CON PRE-SHOW Commissions is CLOSED

Holy cow, Heroes Con people like sketches and of course, I've never been to Heroes for a show so the list filled up immediately.

So thanks to all of you who inquired, I feel very welcomed to Heroes!

Now down to the Commissions...

-The first 25 COMMISSIONS requested via email after 6PM PST have arrived and so the list is CLOSED. 

-Now that the list is CLOSED I will let the first 25 know they are on the list. If you don’t hear within 24 hours of CLOSED then your request was not one of the first 25. 

-I will pick the SUBJECT I want to draw one at a time. As I complete them, I will contact you to let you know your piece was chosen, it's done, and request a partial payment via Paypal ($100) to hold, and then remainder in CASH from you at the show at the time of pick up.

-I will continue picking SUBJECTS (Sketches) until the start of the show so everyone should know by the start of the show (really, 11am Friday, June 16th, as I'm going to update until as close to the start as possible) if they are getting a sketch.

-FINALLY, this is the first time I’ve done this and I’m doing it because of the sheer number of requests and the fact that the show is only 3 days.

 -SO, not everyone will get a sketch and there will most likely be some confusion so read everything carefully and if you don’t hear from me with 24 hours of closing the list, you are NOT on the list of 25.

-If you do make the list of the first 25, you are NOT guaranteed a sketch, just that I’m choosing from those first 25.

- It’s only when I email with the 2nd email  telling you your sketch is completed, request partial payment, then, you know, … I've drawn one for you :-)

-I will do as many as possible!

-Any questions, or comments, suggestions, concerns (apart from whether you are on the list, etc) please ask in the comment section below - thanks, much easier for my to reply here.

I will be taking a Pre-Show Commission List for Heroes starting TONIGHT Tuesday, June 6th at 6 PM Pacific Time.

At that time, send an email titled HEROES SKETCH, through my contact link at  www.terrydodsonart.com or to terry at terrydodsonart dot com (my usual web contact) letting me know the following information:

1 SIZE

 9” x 12” or 11” x 14

I do the sketches on 

Color Canson Pastel paper

with Red Col Erase Pencil, Copic Warm Grey Pens, Black Markers, and Prismacolor White Pencil or Pro White

IF you want your sketch in your SKETCHBOOK, just gauge the size to the 9 x 12 or 11 x 14. However, I won't be able to do many as I won't have the SKETCHBOOK until I'm in Charlotte...
