Uncanny X-Men #513 Cover Step by Step 4 -Rachel's Inks
All of Rachel's inks plus a couple of detail shots to see the "nitty-gritty".
All inks done with Windsor Newton Series 7 #2 Sable Brush, FW Acrylic Black Ink and Pro White.
Hi, big fan of your work here - And I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your posting of the process behind the pages and covers. And the inking is just GORGEOUS, well worth the hours spent studying them.
Thanks, glad you like how they look. Rachel does such a nice job inking stuff it's a good opportunity to show off the details here- and- it's difficult to appreciate what she does once the art is colored and printed.
Nice work in progress photos! Are the scraps of paper to protect from smudging the pencils or does Rachel just like to isolate the area she works on? What is the acrylic ink like to work with? I have never tried it - is it hard on the sable brushes? I guess it gives a deeper black? Best, Jonathan Gilpin

Deeply impressive inking, I'm always amazed how few mistakes top inkers make with all that fine linework.
